Akin Olutunla is an Alumni of the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) and graduated with a Masters in Information Technology and Management (MITM) in 200.

After working for several years as an IT Professional with Management responsibilities, Akin decided it was time for a Master’s Program that would not only equip him for emerging technologies of the future, but also equip him with sound business management principles. After researching American and European Universities, Akin decided to chose the MITM program from UT Dallas. Their Master’s Program was well thought-out, diverse, rich in content and with a very capable Faculty. At his Student Visa Interview, Akin was asked why he only applied to UT Dallas. Akin’s reply was that only UT Dallas had what he wanted for his Master’s Degree.

For Akin, the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM) at UT Dallas was a great experience studying with bright graduate students from around the world. It is housed in a world class facility that promotes learning, research and collaboration. JSOM also has a very dedicated faculty committed to students having the very best education and experience. Moreover, its proximity and history with the Telecom Corridor makes it a great candidate for Companies looking to hire and do research.

Akin’s studies focused on Enterprise Recourse Planning Systems, IT Audit and IT Security. His ERP Professors included Professors Lou Thompson and Mary Goodrich who were very dedicated in advancing SAP education at JSOM. Akin soon got involved in the SAP USER’s Group where he became an officer of the group which also gave him an opportunity to serve as Professors Thompson Teaching Assistant in his SAP Business Warehouse Course. The SAP User Group was indeed a great opportunity to Network and attend seminars such as ASUG etc.

For Akin, it was all worth it …..

Akin has continued his SAP & Management career as a Consulting Manager, Project Manager and Delivery Manager and has worked for top companies such as Siemens, Microsoft, Infosys, Cognizant Technologies, PWC amongst others Akin currently works at one of the Big 4 and is thankful for the opportunities and guidance provided by Professor Thompson mentorship and indeed all his professors at the JSOM Faculty of University of Texas at Dallas.
