I had my undergraduate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the unique University of Port-Harcourt, Nigeria, after which for roughly 6 years, I was privileged to work with OVH Energy, one of the largest indigenous downstream companies in Nigeria. From a back-end analyst in Sales and Operations to becoming one of the leading commercial branch managers, OVH gave me the rare opportunity to understand and appreciate the importance of data, information management and analysis for business decision making, innovation and control from a large-scale POV.

In my career journey, I got hungrier for more, feeling the need for an upgrade and top-notch equipping to enhance service to my world, as I’d already discovered a proclivity of continually desiring to serve and help people excel, to see people, organizations and society in general, function optimally and consistently improve. It was my belief that I could make any potential kinetic.

The master’s program in Information Technology and Management at the University of Texas at Dallas was a perfect marriage to tie up my technical educational background, business management work experience and passion for making an excellent contribution to my world. The flexible, diverse and extensive nature of curriculum excited me and experiencing the sincere intent of the professors to see that every student succeeded was mind-blowing. This school has shown immense commitment from the application, orientation till date to ensure that I achieve and invariably exceed my desired outcomes regardless. Although currently in my 1st semester, I’ve already had an internship/job interview due to opportunities this program has presented to me.

My choice to follow the ITM-Healthcare IT (Graduate Certificate inclusive) track out of the five-plus available bespoke tracks will provide more capacity to serve out my passion, coming from a continent in need of technological advancement to solve its ailing challenges, especially in healthcare. It is my expectation that the sky will be my starting point in my endeavor by the time my ITM upgrade is complete.
