My decision of pursuing masters in IT management at UT Dallas was highly dependent on the versatile courses offered by Enterprise Department and today as an alumnus I see it as a life-changing decision of my life. Coming from an electronics engineering background and 2 years of SAP consulting experience, UT Dallas Enterprise Systems track was a perfect fit for me and helped me to excel in both technical as well as managerial skills.

As soon as I started my Master’s journey, I registered myself as a member of the SAP Users Group. I started actively volunteering for all the organization’s activities and got promoted to General Secretary of the organization in quick time which finally led to the Presidency. Being a President of this esteemed organization has been very rewarding and gave me great opportunity to meet and learn from numerous industry experts and leaders. At the same point of time, it gave me a wonderful opportunity to help my fellow students.

During my master’s journey, I took various courses from “Enterprise track” and “Business Intelligence track” and with the help and support of the eminent faculties of JSOM, I was able to attain a 4.0 GPA throughout my coursework which led me getting a Dean Excellence Scholarship and other university funding’s from university. I would especially like to thank Dr. Lou Thompson who gave me opportunities to work under him as Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, ERP Lab Volunteer and stood by my side throughout my time at JSOM. Working with him made me grow academically as well as professionally and inspired me to do something for society.

TERP10: I enrolled in SAP Certification TERP10 Training in May 2018 and became an SAP Certified Consultant at the end of the program. The two-week training was essential for me to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes and ERP system integration, and to pass the certification exam. This course structure is directly aligned to the industry demands and provides a cutting edge to students in the job market and benefitting from this course foundation I landed up on my dream job at PwC Consulting in their SAP Practice.

Apart from academics, UT Dallas also has a bright vision of student’s all-round development and to cater to this vision UTD has 300+ student organizations on the university campus. I got the opportunity to uphold the cultural values and ideas of my home country by serving as General Secretary of Indian Students Association. At the same time, I also represented the Deans council of University as a DC Branding Leader.

Lastly, I would like to thank each and every individual who was part of my master’s journey and special thanks to the entire staff and faculty of UT Dallas for designing such an efficient and wonderful Program. My advice to all the prospective students is Keep working Hard with the thought in mind “Do your Best and Forget the rest “
