Enterprise Project Manager, City of Philadelphia
It’s an honor to share my experience as an alumna of the MSITM program at UT Dallas. Before joining the program, I worked as a Project Manager in the Telecom, Cybersecurity, Risk, and Compliance domains. I chose MSITM for its flexibility and the opportunity to dive deep into both cybersecurity and analytics, while also refining my project management skills.

The program delivered exactly what I hoped for. Courses in Big Data, Database Foundations for Business Analytics, Business Analytics with R, Advanced Statistics for Data Science, Cybersecurity Fundamentals, Applied Cybersecurity Analytics and Risk Management, and System Analysis & Project Management provided me with the technical and strategic foundation I needed to advance in my career. Just as impactful were the opportunities to engage with student organizations, from Leadership Councils to Volunteering for social causes, which helped me build confidence and grow as a leader.

I’m deeply grateful to the Professors, Program directors, Mentors, and friends who supported me throughout this two-year journey. The MSITM program has truly shaped who I am today, and I’m proud to represent it as a Program Ambassador.

My decision to move from India to pursue my master’s degree at The University of Texas at Dallas was driven by a desire to gain practical exposure to enterprise systems and understand how technology supports real business processes.

The MS in Information Technology and Management program gave me exactly that opportunity. Through the Enterprise Systems track, I worked on hands-on SAP business case studies across different modules which helped me connect classroom learning with real-world scenarios. These experiences strengthened my understanding of end-to-end business processes and how data and systems drive decision-making in organizations. One of the most rewarding parts of my journey was working as a Teaching Assistant, where I supported students during practical SAP assignments, clarified concepts, and guided them through complex business case studies. This role not only strengthened my technical foundation but also improved my communication skills and confidence in explaining processes clearly.

Beyond academics, I actively engaged with the SAP User’s Group as a Vice President and collaborated with peers who shared similar interests, which helped me grow both professionally and personally. Balancing academics, responsibilities, and the job search as an international student was challenging, but the supportive learning environment at UTD made a significant difference.

My time at UTD played a key role in helping me secure an opportunity at L’Oréal USA as a Junior Supply Chain Associate. This role aligns closely with my interest in supply chain operations and financial processes and marks an important milestone in my professional journey. The MSITM program at JSOM provided me with strong foundational knowledge, hands-on experience, and exposure to industry relevant tools and processes. I would highly recommend this program to students looking to build practical skills and grow into impactful roles within enterprise systems and business operations.

After having three years of experience in the SAP domain in tech industry, I realized the importance of deepening my technical and managerial understanding to advance my career. The MSITM program at UT Dallas stood out for its adaptable curriculum and strong alignment with my aspirations.

I chose the Enterprise Systems track, where I took SAP-focused courses. I also had the privilege of working as a Teaching Assistant for Professor Lou Thompson and Professor Mary Beth Goodrich, assisting students with SAP assignments and troubleshooting issues, which significantly enhanced my technical expertise and deepened my understanding of SAP systems. In addition, I served as the President of the SAP User’s Group (SUG), which gave me the opportunity to lead initiatives, collaborate with peers, and build strong professional networks within the SAP community.

During my time at UTD, I earned a Graduate Certificate in Enterprise Systems and achieved the SAP TS410 certification, which strengthened my credentials and opened doors to valuable opportunities. I also secured a Software Engineer internship at BTerrell Group, LLP, which converted into a full-time role after graduation, a testament to the skills and experience I gained through the program. The opportunities for growth, exposure, and networking at UTD were truly exceptional. The MSITM program at JSOM is an excellent platform for anyone with an SAP background looking to advance their career. I highly recommend it to students aspiring to excel in the SAP domain. It’s a transformative program that builds a strong foundation for future success.

With a background in Data Science and Machine Learning, I was on the hunt for a program that blended solid technical skills with real-world business insights—and the MS in Information Technology and Management at UT Dallas hit that sweet spot perfectly. What stood out was the program's diverse range of courses spread across different tracks, letting students customize their path to match their ambitions. I gravitated toward the Enterprise Systems track as the college is one of the University Alliance partners with SAP, where I dove into how tech powers smarter business choices.

Receiving the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship was a huge boost—it motivated me to seize every chance that came my way. As President of the SAP Users’ Group and a Teaching Assistant for Professor Lou Thompson, I played a part in evolving the Enterprise Systems track into the Intelligent Enterprise Systems track, weaving in AI and automation to keep things cutting-edge. The capstone project in the program was a standout to bring the research from academia and implement in the industry setting working directly with clients, and the networking events opened doors to amazing classmates and industry professionals. All in all, my time in Masters’ at UTDallas was a game-changer, sharpening my leadership, creative thinking, and expertise in enterprise tech.

A standout moment that speaks volumes about the UTD community was the “Meet Your Deans” event. I had the chance to demo an AI project to Professors Mark Thouin and Gaurav Shekhar. Professor Shekhar not only praised the work but graciously took me under his wing, mentoring me and directing me to key events and industry connections that sparked even more innovation. This level of direct support from the school's leadership was truly humbling, and I was deeply honored to be named a Dean's Impact Scholar, which further fueled my drive to contribute back to this amazing community.
