Types of jobs our business analytics graduates get hired for:

Business Analyst

Business analysts evaluate company and industry data to find valuable insights for profit making opportunities. This role requires skills of programming, data querying and statistical know-how, along with the ability to use data visualization skills for effective storytelling. This job requires strong communications skills.

Business Intelligence Analyst

BI analysts analyze data, work with tools and languages such as SQL to extract, transform and load data necessary to make effective data-driven decisions.

Data Scientist

Data scientists use advanced statistical modeling techniques to analyze business data. Because they use data to make predictions, they need strong knowledge of data analytics software tools, programming languages such as Python or R and data-visualization skills.

Data Analytics Consultant

The primary role of an analytics consultant is to help a business identify and define business problems and help uncover and understand the data required to provide insights to a company to help business.

Operations Analyst

Operations analysts focus on the internal processes of a business, which may include product manufacturing and distribution and the general streamlining of business operations to cut costs and improve customer satisfaction and profitability.

Marketing Analyst

Marketing analysts need knowledge of basic marketing concepts, digital marketing and data analytics techniques. Marketers often use tools like Google Analytics, Twitter analytics and other reporting tools to analyze marketing trends and patterns.

How do I get a business analytics internship?

The Jindal School requires that all students get an internship to graduate. One or more internships, experiential learning opportunities and community service on your résumé make you a much more valuable job candidate.

Note to international students

International students are eligible to work on a curricular internship for a maximum of 12 months while they remain students. Since the Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics is an approved STEM degree program, graduating students are eligible to work for up to 29 months under the OPT program. Please contact the Office of International Student Services for details about these programs.
