Allen, Texas
I am a graduate student studying business analytics with a focus on data science at the University of Texas at Dallas. I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and have a particular interest in data and analysis of said data. I am confident in my analytical experience as I have worked within a research lab and have organized large social events that have many revolving parts. I have an interest in analytic and presentation positions, human resources, and management. I am skilled in networking, organization, research, public relations, presentation, and have intermediate knowledge of R and PowerPoint.
You may wonder why a student previously studying psychology has pivoted towards business analytics. One of the aspects that initially drew me to psychology was its emphasis on data analysis and its application to real-life situations: how it revealed underlying reasons behind human behavior. However, when it came to potential career paths within psychology, I found them to be less appealing. I did not envision myself as a therapist or someone conducting extensive field studies. It gradually became clear to me that I had a genuine interest in delving into the intricacies of business, spanning from financial matters to managerial aspects. I recognized how my enthusiasm for social psychology and data analysis could be seamlessly integrated into the realm of business.
